Chairman
David Thompson FCA
David joined the board in 2002 and was appointed Chairman in 2004. A chartered accountant, he retired from The Boots Company plc as Deputy Chief Executive and Finance Director after 36 years. He is heavily involved with charities that support adults with learning difficulties.

Vice Chairman
Robert Marchant BSc (Social Sciences), FCA
Bob joined the board in 2003 after retiring from the Midlands practice of KPMG where he was a senior audit partner and Head of Sales. He has over 30 years’ experience in accountancy and business advisory roles. Bob’s other commercial interests include retail and property.

Chief Executive
David Marlow* ACIB
David joined the board in January 2006. Before joining The Nottingham, David had a number of senior posts in retail banking and has over 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry. He is also Chairman of Nottingham Property Services Ltd and Nottingham Mortgage Services Ltd.

Keith Whitesides MBE, LLB, MPhil
Keith joined the board in 2004. He retired from his position as Director of Investor Relations at The Boots Company plc in 2001 after 27 years with the company. He was awarded an MBE in 1996 for services to the community in the East Midlands. Keith has also served as a Justice of the Peace in Nottinghamshire and was a National Commissioner for Racial Equality.

Operations Director
Simon Taylor* ACIB, MBA
Simon joined the board in February 2011 and is the Society's Operations Director with responsibility for the Branch Network, Marketing, Distribution, I.T and Customer Service. He is also a director of Nottingham Mortgage Services Ltd and Nottingham Property Services Ltd. Simon joined the Society from Lloyds Banking Group where he was Regional Director for North of England. Prior to this, he had responsibility for running one of Lloyds Bank's largest contact centres. 

Jane Kibbey BSc, MCIPD
Jane joined the board in May 2006, bringing a wealth of experience in financial services and human resources. After working in a range of high-profile companies Jane retired from her position as Group Human Resources Director for Prudential plc after nine years.

Deputy Chief Executive and Finance Director
Ashraf Piranie* FCCA, MBA
Ashraf joined The Nottingham in April 2007 as Finance Director with responsibility for finance, treasury and credit risk. He has over 15 years’ experience in the financial services industry, holding senior positions at Alliance & Leicester plc and, most recently, that of Finance Director and Joint Managing Director at the Islamic Bank of Britain. He is also a director of both Nottingham Property Services Ltd and Nottingham Mortgage Services Ltd.

Dr Richard Fiddis PhD, BSc (Hons)
Richard joined the Board in September 2007. He has worked in the information technology industry for over 20 years and was recently appointed Managing Director of Emerging Markets at Experian Group Ltd. Prior to this, he was Experian’s Managing Director for the UK, Ireland and Northern Europe.
