Beeston team’s tasty treat for charity
Our Beeston team are adding some spice to their ongoing support for popular local project Forces in the Community in the form of their second charity dinner.
Hot on the heels of a similar event in 2016 that raised nearly £2,500 for charity they have planned another at Haveli Fine Dining in Chilwell on the afternoon of Sunday 5 March, where as well as a four-course set menu there will be entertainment and a raffle.
All profit from ticket sales will this time around go to Forces in the Community. Last year’s recipients were SportsAid and Framework.
Beeston customer adviser Amy Holden said: “We have been supporters of Forces in the Community for some time now. In 2016 they received a £2,000 Grants For Good from us and we also helped out with their tram pull in Nottingham which was a great success.
“We wanted to do something that would be impactful, fun and, most importantly, of all raise lots of money for the charity - so we decided to build on the success of last year’s charity dinner. Our thanks go to Haveli for hosting it again and to music duo The Village for agreeing to come along once more to entertain the guests.
“As a branch we know how just how much Forces in the Community means to people in Beeston and beyond so we are hoping as many of them as possible are able to come along and join us on 5 March.”
Forces in the Community CEO Rick Harrington added: “We are extremely grateful to The Nottingham for their contribution towards helping ex-service personnel gain employment and/or receive mental health support where required.
“It was fantastic to be a Grant For Good recipient last year and it is especially pleasing to know that, largely thanks to the Beeston branch and all their magnificent efforts, the backing is ongoing.
“To give just one example of many, we recently we met with a local man who was out of work, two months in mortgage arrears and really struggling with life. Less than 24 hours after we helped him create a CV and secure an interview he started a new job and can look forward to a brighter future - and that, in part, is thanks to The Nottingham.”
Tickets for the charity dinner are priced just £20 - with £10 of that going direct to Forces in the Community - and can be purchased from the following branches: 32-34 High Road, Beeston, NG9 2JP; Haveli Fine Dining, 10 Attenborough Lane, Chilwell, Nottingham, NG9 5JW or Forces in the Community, 2 Cross Street, Beeston, NG9 2NX or call 0115 925 1685 for more details.
