Best in class for Bluecoat Academy
Bluecoat Academy in Aspley walked away with the financial management award at this month's Young Enterprise Nottinghamshire Company of the Year awards. The team had been mentored throughout the year by head of HR, Anne Mellors. The year-long programme has seen dozens of schools across the region set up and run a real business for a year under the watchful eye of a 'Business Adviser' like Anne.
She said "I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience with Young Enterprise. It has been very insightful to work with young people and watch their progress this year.
"It is disappointing to have missed out on going onto the regional finals next month, but the team have got so much out of the experience which will be incredibly beneficial to them as they progress in their early careers."
Anne's team were just one of the teams whose schools were financially supported by The Nottingham to undertake the programme across Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire and also benefit from the practical advice of one of our volunteer business advisers.
Following county finals in Nottingham and Leicestershire, winning teams will compete for a place at the national finals at Loughborough on Tuesday 6th June where Chief Executive David Marlow will be putting teams through their paces.
