Foxes fan wins prized Leicester shirt
With Euro 2016 having begun in style one young footballer from Leicestershire is hoping his new prized possession brings good luck to the England squad.
As local hero Jamie Vardy, captain Wayne Rooney, goalie Joe Hart and the rest of the team get their group games underway in France, Lutterworth youngster Matty Combellack is already celebrating a win of his own!
The creative seven-year-old is the new owner of a much sought after Leicester City football shirt – signed by the Premier League winning side.
The money can’t buy piece of memorabilia was offered as an exclusive prize by our estate agents at Harrison Murray, who were inundated with entries in their competition for aspiring artists.
From the dozens of inspirational entries in the quest to ‘design the dream shirt’, Matty was selected as the winner with his colourful Fox emblem shirt.
The delighted youngster was presented with his prize by Lutterworth branch estate agency manager Charles Sylvanus-Jones.
Charles said: “We were delighted to have been given the shirt by Leicester FC and with the general football buzz around the county our competition really fired the imagination of the many people who entered.
“A huge well done to Matty who I’m sure will treasure the shirt for many years to come. Let’s hope he can cheer on the England team to a victory too!”
