Mrs Christmas pops in to Firth Park

South Yorkshire’s very own Mrs Christmas, Gloria Stewart, popped into our Firth Park branch to lend her backing to a festive fundraiser.

Our team there are holding an advent raffle and all proceeds will help buy gifts for the Home Alone lunches Gloria has arranged for people in need of company over the Christmas period.

According to Age UK, over 340,000 people in the UK will be on their own over the festive period - to put that into perspective it is more or less the population of the city of Nottingham.

Kind-hearted Gloria is doing her bit to alleviate the problem across South Yorkshire and we are delighted to help. As well as the raffle, members of staff will also help Gloria serve up the Christmas lunches.

Firth Park branch manager Sandra Bramall said: “Gloria is a local legend, and quite rightly so for what she does year in year out, and has done for over a decade, to help bring a smile to the faces of those who unfortunately are alone over the festive period.

“Organising the advent raffle and giving up our time to help distribute the lunches is the least we can do. We are very proud to be involved.”

Anyone that would like to show their support by taking part in the advent raffle can find the branch at 17 Bellhouse Road, Firth Park, Sheffield, S5 6HJ.
