Wollaton 90-year-olds celebrate Queen's birthday
We were proud to host a number of very apt guests of honour at our Wollaton branch as we joined the nation in celebrating Her Majesty the Queen’s 90th birthday.
Five of our customers, who all turn 90 in 2016, enjoyed a cuppa and cakes and mingled with staff at one of the tea parties going on simultaneously at our 57 branches across nine counties.
The VIP guests at the Bramcote Lane branch were Mr Dennis Ashworth, Mrs Vera Albans, Mrs Lesley Ball, Mrs Sheila Gilbert and Mrs Margaret Chamberlain.
Louise Waterhouse, Wollaton branch manager, said: “When we started planning our branch tea party to mark the Queen’s 90th birthday we thought it would be extra special if any of our customers shared a 90th birthday in the same year as Her Majesty - little did we expect that eight of our customers would share this wonderful milestone.
“The Queen is close to the heart of many of our customers and we enjoyed a really special party to celebrate her birthday. It was extra special to have the guests of honour with us too.”
