Our charity partners

East Midlands-based homeless charity Framework have been a partner of The Nottingham since 2011. Offering support to thousands of homeless and vulnerable people, the charity offers accommodation services, training and support to help people move away from homelessness forever. In the last four years, the staff and customers have raised £43,000 to help support its ‘Skills for Independence’ programme, delivering life skills to help people live independently.
Since partnering with SportsAid in 2013, we have supported over 70 promising sporting stars of the future. The athletes we have helped include Junior World Champion Freestyle Skier Molly Summerhayes, Baku 2015 Team GB Diver Jordan Holden, Team GB’s Goalball player Dave Butler and Wimbledon Junior tennis player Freya Christie to name but a few!

In 2012, we announced we’d be supporting ten local schools through the educational charity, Young Enterprise. We helped them deliver financial literacy and employability skills to young people through the charity’s ‘Learn to Earn’ scheme and the flagship ‘Company Programme’.

Supporting good work in our community

Each year, we give away thousands of pounds worth of financial assistance to help our local communities prosper. We work with Nottinghamshire Community Foundation to find projects for our ‘Grants for Good’ and media partners Nottingham Post and Leicester Mercury to deliver our ‘Cash for your Community’ initiative.
In 2013, we were delighted to gift our former head office on Friar Lane to the Framework and Double Impact charities. They now offer a city centre housing crisis centre and the city’s first non-alcoholic bar, SOBAR. The unique social enterprise was opened formally by 90s pop star Adamski in January 2014.

In 2013, we also launched special savings accounts to help Framework, as part of a £10m investment plan to provide 150 housing units for the homeless. Supported by a mortgage from The Nottingham, every deposit made in these special accounts <LINK TO ACCOUNTS PAGE> helps the charity by offsetting the cost of interest payable on the £800k loan being used to build 14 units of crucial move-on accommodation. Very simply, the more you save, the more Framework saves!
We also encourage our staff to volunteer in their local communities and each year, teams donate hundreds of hours helping out with everything from reading to weeding. If you have a project you would like some help with email dgt@thenottingham.com
