Festive fun on the farm
Goats and rabbits provided a festive feel to the official opening of Santa’s Grotto at Stonebridge City Farm last week.
The ‘North Pole Magic’ themed attraction was made possible due to a special team of elves from our head office marketing team, and our Carlton Hill branch, after they heard of the farm’s financial struggle to put on Christmas events last year.
Over the last few months, the team have secured donations of trees, decorations, gifts and even signage from suppliers such as MX Display, Brookfields Garden Centre and JTF in Hucknall to build the grotto which opened last Friday under a blanket of magical snow, fresh from the North Pole.
Heather Slater, fundraising and marketing manager at Stonebridge City Farm added; “The Farm was absolutely thrilled that the Nottingham Building Society agreed to create a lovely grotto and surrounding area for us this year.
“Their team has worked really hard over recent months designing and planning and then they donated and begged and borrowed all sorts of items needed to make the grotto so successful.
"Santa and his Elves even made friends whilst feeding the goats and cuddling rabbits. We cannot thank The Nottingham enough for all their efforts and support – they certainly spread a lot of happiness.”
The farm received a ‘Grant for Good’ earlier in the year for its employability scheme, one of 14 projects across the East Midlands to receive a financial donation.
