Cheque-ing in at the City Ground
We celebrated 11 years of support for Nottingham Forest by handing over a cheque for £103,437 at their recent game against Fulham – taking the total contributed during that time to over half a million pounds.
Academy manager Gary Brazil received the funds from the society’s head of branch network Gary Womersley before the match at the City Ground.
The money, which will go directly into the club’s youth set-up and play a part in helping bring through the stars of tomorrow, takes the total presented by us to Forest over the last decade to in excess of £500,000.
Forest supporters themselves have helped enormously in making that contribution, as it represents the equivalent of 0.25% of every pound people have saved in our Nottingham Forest Saver account.
Chief executive David Marlow said: “The account has proven to be very popular with Forest fans over the years as it not only, and crucially, contributes to developing the club’s Academy but also offers a club shop discount and Forest-related prize draws for the supporter too.
“We are extremely proud to have been so close to the club for the last 11 years. Our sporting connections - which also include Nottinghamshire CC, Leicester City Football Club and Leicester Tigers - are a key part of our ethos to be right at the heart of the communities in which we have branches.”
