How we help our local community
We encourage our team members to lend their time and talent to the local community by accommodating two days paid leave for volunteering every year. Team members support a wide range of causes in support of our core community pillars of employability, financial education and tackling homelessness. Since 2011 over 4,700 hours of team member volunteering have been donated.
Here's some examples of the volunteering work that we get involved in and what our team members have to say about their experiences.
Fakenham branch
“I was happy to volunteer with First Focus. They run sessions to help people get back into the workplace by looking at CV writing and helping them to understand job descriptions and vacancies, and that fits with our ethos of supporting employability in our communities.”
Lynne, customer services assistant

Norfolk branch
“We were proud to help such a great cause (Royal British Legion) as we know how important it is to people locally, including many of our members. It’s yet another example of how The Nottingham positively encourages its teams to volunteer in the local community.”
Sharon, cluster manager
