Branches set to bed down for rough sleeping
Branches in North Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire are getting set to bed down for rough sleeping by taking part in Framework’s Big Snore.
The events, on 23rd February (Boston) and 23rd March (Mansfield), sponsored by The Nottingham see hundreds of the charity’s supporters give up their bed for one night to raise awareness and funds for Framework.
David Ellis, Cluster Manager in Lincolnshire explains: “Following four years of success at The Nottingham flagship ‘Sleep Out’ we are delighted to be supporting the Big Snore events in Boston and Mansfield.
"Sadly rough sleeping is increasing rapidly and by sleeping out, I wanted to demonstrate my support and awareness to the issues homelessness brings about, whilst at the same time raising valuable funds.”
The charity have been a partner of The Nottingham since 2011 and work across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and now in Sheffield to aid and prevent homelessness and provide access to a number of services, however this is the first time our sponsorship has ventured outside Nottingham.
All monies raised will support the move-on process for service users across the region.
These family-friendly events are very much like their bigger brother in Nottingham and sees entertainment and a competition for the best shelter. In November, a team from head office raised over £700 at the Nottingham Big Sleep Out.
