Nottingham Building Society to sponsor Notts Pride for second successive year

Nottingham Building Society has reaffirmed its commitment to championing inclusion and community by confirming its sponsorship of Notts Pride for the second successive year.

The mutual, which has supported people with their savings and homeownership ambitions for over 175 years, first sponsored Notts Pride in 2024 as part of its expansive community programme. That success has since led to its role as lead sponsor of Belper Pride for the first time this year.

Notts Pride 2025 will take place on Saturday 26 July, with the parade beginning at Lister Gate at 12pm and further celebrations taking place throughout Sneinton Market Square and Hockley. Just as last year, colleagues from across Nottingham Building Society’s branches and head office will take part in the celebrations, with members of the Society’s Pride Network proudly marching once again.

The announcement comes as the Society also marks two years of its colleague-led Pride Network — a growing and vibrant community of colleagues championing an inclusive culture for the LGBTQIA+ community within the society. Led by Sue Hayes, the Society’s CEO, and chaired by colleagues from across the organisation, the network has been instrumental in shaping a more inclusive culture and building awareness both within the Society and across the communities it serves.

Speaking about the sponsorship, Sue Hayes, CEO at Nottingham Building Society, said: “We’re proud to stand with the LGBTQIA+ community, and equally proud to support Notts Pride once again this year.

“Belonging and inclusion are not just values we speak about. They’re principles we actively build into the way we work, lead, and show up in our communities. The vibrancy of our Pride Network, and the energy from colleagues across our Society, is something I’ve been especially proud to see grow over the past two years, since it launched in 2023.

“Events like Notts Pride remind us why it matters. They celebrate individuality, encourage allyship, and send an important message: that everyone should feel able to live and love openly, safely, and proudly. This isn’t just a sponsorship. It’s a continued commitment to doing more, listening better, and creating the kind of Society where everyone is welcome.”

Since its launch in 1997, Notts Pride has been a solely non-profit event, and relies on sponsors and volunteers for it to take place each year.

Leigh Ellis, Chairperson at Notts Pride, said: “Notts Pride is proud to welcome Nottingham Building Society as a returning sponsor for the second consecutive year. Their continued support reflects a deep-rooted commitment to inclusion, allyship, and uplifting the LGBTQIA+ community across Nottinghamshire.

“This is a shining example of how businesses can drive positive change — not just by showing up, but by standing with us. With colleagues from across the Society once again marching in the parade and championing Pride through their own network.”
