Familiar faces in Scunthorpe
People visiting our new Scunthorpe branch may get a feeling of déjà vu - as there are a couple of familiar faces in-branch.
Building Society manager David Ellis and customer adviser Sam Kiddle were not only both born and brought up in the Lincolnshire town but also have strong financial services links there too.
Former High Ridge Comprehensive School (now St. Lawrence Academy) pupil David joined NatWest in Scunthorpe on a YTS scheme in 1988 and then during a 25-year career with the bank managed their branch there as well as in Gainsborough, Lincoln and Grimsby before becoming an area manager.
Sam will be a familiar face to many locals after spending two years serving them in the exact building that we are now located - on High Street - whilst working for the Co-op, which closed its doors there in June.
David, a former England Junior Bowls international who also manages our Brigg and Retford branches, said: “It’s fantastic to come ‘full circle’ and be managing a branch in my home town and the place where I started my financial services career.
“Like Sam I am extremely fond of Scunthorpe and passionate about promoting all that is good about it - and there’s plenty - so to come back as manager of a building society that puts the local community right at the heart of what it does is the perfect fit.”
The Scunthorpe branch can be found at 145 High Street, DN15 6LN. You can find out more information about all of our 60 branches here.
Well-known: David Ellis and Sam Kiddle.
