What’s your history?
The Nottingham Building Society has a proud heritage of putting its customers first. Founded in 1849, its aims were to help people in the local community become homeowners and give them a safe and secure place for their savings.
Led by Samuel Fox, a leading Quaker and local grocer, the founders of The Nottingham Building Society made the decision to take a prudent approach to their customers’ finances. They invested money wisely with an eye to safe and secure growth rather than high-risk ventures. And by staying mutual, all profits could be ploughed back into the society for the benefit of everyone.
Today, over 160 years later, these ideals are still central to the way we do business and have helped The Nottingham grow to become a top 10 building society. We continue to put our customers first and are committed to helping each and every one achieve their financial ambitions.
