Introducing app notifications for payments and feedback

We're always looking at ways to improve our app, from enhancing journeys and publishing new functionality, to working with new partners to deliver you extra services. Take a look at the changes from April 2025.

Incoming payment notifications

App notifications are a quick and convenient way to stay on top of your finances, so we’ve introduced a new feature that alerts you when an incoming payment has been received, meaning you’ll now get an instant alert so you can see your savings grow in real time as it arrives. It’s all part of our ongoing effort to make managing your finances easier, more transparent, and more in tune with your day-to-day life.

We've also added notifications for Lifetime ISA bonus payments. This means you’ll soon be able to get notified as soon as your Government bonus has been added, giving you even more visibility over your savings. We know how important it is to feel confident and in control of your money, and we’re excited to keep building features that help make that possible.

If you’re not receiving notifications from us, it might be because they’re switched off in your device settings. To stay updated with important alerts, like when a payment arrives, it’s a good idea to check that notifications are enabled for the app. You can also choose to receive occasional marketing messages via notifications, such as news about new features or savings accounts. To do this, you’ll need to opt in within the app and make sure notifications are turned on in your device settings. That way, you won’t miss out on updates that matter to you.

Secure messaging gives you a safe, private, and convenient way to contact us about your account - so we’ve introduced a new feature in the app that lets you send us messages 24/7. Whether you have a question about your savings, or want to check on the progress of something, you no longer have to wait for our contact centre to open. Simply send a message in the app at any time, and we’ll respond as soon as we can.

Secure messaging are ideal for non-urgent queries and gives you a written record of your conversations that you can refer back to whenever needed. It also means you can take your time explaining what you need, without feeling rushed or having to repeat yourself.

This new feature sits alongside our phone and live chat support, giving you more flexibility and control over how you contact us. We know everyone’s day looks different, so whether it’s first thing in the morning or late in the evening, you can now reach out on your own terms. It’s another step in making the app more helpful, more responsive, and more in tune with the way you manage your money.

We introduced a new feature that allows you to rate us directly in the app store. This makes it quicker and easier for you to share your thoughts about the app with just a few taps. Whether you’ve had a great experience or spotted an area we can improve, your feedback helps others discover the app and helps us understand what’s working - and what’s not.

Deactivating your account

Another great enhancement allows you to deactivate your profile with a single tap once you’ve closed your savings account. This gives you more control over your personal information and ensures your app experience reflects your current relationship with us.

We introduced this feature to make the process of leaving as smooth and straightforward as joining. While we’re always sorry to see a member go, we believe it’s important to provide a clear and respectful way to close things off when needed. Your time and privacy matter to us, and this update is part of our ongoing effort to make the app as transparent and user-friendly as possible.
