Superhero Picnic at Wollaton Hall is a roaring success
As part of our mission to bring archery back to Nottingham we attended the Superhero Picnic at Wollaton Hall on 14th August. We were there to promote the finals taking place on 1st September and because we didn’t want to miss all the fun.
Armed with our very own heroes, Robin Hood and Maid Marian and two face painters we quickly drew a big crowd that stayed throughout the entire day. As the face painters were free and so talented the buzz around our pitch from the kids was fantastic. We saw plenty of Batgirls, Incredible Hulks and Spidermen.
Leah Dilks from Wollaton said: "We’ve all had a very good day. The face painters are brilliant, the kids loved them! We look forward to seeing you at the next event".
Robin and Marian had a go at the archery themselves. Sadly while Robin should have been an expert, he unfortunately missed the target completely and the arrow travelled halfway down the field. Top marks for effort, zero marks for the result Robin.
Don't worry if you didn't get a chance to come down, you've got anther chance. Our team of heroes and face painters will be joining us again at the The National Series Archery Finals on 1st September and we’d love to see you. The free entry family fun day at Wollaton Hall will showcase 24 of the UK’s best archers and an exclusive match between Paralympic Gold medallist John Stubbs and Paralympic Silver medallist Mel Clarke.
As well as all this there is the opportunity to have a go at shooting with a real bow and arrow. We're sure Robin will try to redeem himself by having another go. Could you beat him? Do you have the potential to be an archery legend? If you think so or you just want to watch Robin get it all wrong again, come along and have a go.
