Carnival capers as Robin Hood hits Harpenden
Robin Hood and Maid Marian may be most closely connected with Nottingham but those who are eagle eyed would have recently spotted them out and about in Harpenden!
The Nottingham’s mascots travelled south to Hertfordshire to help celebrate Harpenden Carnival’s 50th anniversary.
The dynamic duo posed for photos with young visitors to the carnival, which this year attracted over 5,000 people, and even took part in the main parade.
Robin and Marian were a popular presence close to the display gazebo manned by staff from our Harpenden branch.
Building society branch manager Khushbu Pancholi said: “As always the carnival was a fantastic event and it was great to be part of it – in particular for Robin Hood and Maid Marian to recognise the importance of the celebrations and come all the way from Nottingham to see everyone. They were delighted and honoured to be invited to take part in the parade!
“The day was all about having fun, meeting lots of people and talking to them about the building society and estate agency products and advice we have available at our joint Nottingham Building Society and Harrison Murray estate agency on Church Green in Harpenden.”
