Michelle’s marathon fundraising
Customer Adviser Michelle Stocks from Louth is getting some mileage under her belt… in training for next year’s London Marathon!
Busy grandmother of one Michelle has worked for The Nottingham for eight years. It is the first time the regular runner has completed this distance and will be running for charity SportsAid.
Michelle explains ‘I have been running for about five years now but this year have really increased my distance completing my first half-marathon this autumn.
‘I have been fitting in training when I finish work and on days off with longer distances at the weekend. I have also been fitting in several sessions at the gym too to increase my overall fitness. I have tried a few times to get a place at the London Marathon so I am absolutely thrilled to be running for SportsAid.’
Louth branch sponsored local SportsAid athlete show-jumper Emily Parker in 2013 so has enlisted the help of her colleagues again to help reach her fundraising target.
‘The ladies here at the branch are really chuffed that I got a place at London and are very excited to be back on the fundraising trail for SportsAid again.’
Money raised for SportsAid will go towards helping athlete’s travel to competitions as well as buying equipment.
