Home insurance policy prize draw
To celebrate helping 10,000 members protect their properties with home insurance policies we held a prize draw for one of them to win back their premium.
Those who took out a Take Your Pick home insurance policy, provided by RSA, in the month that the milestone figure was reached were entered - with the name of David Winstanley drawn as the lucky winner.
David, who lives in Chapeltown in Sheffield, has had a tough year so winning the money, after taking out a policy with the help of our branch team in Firth Park, was a nice surprise.
The 59-year-old’s wife sadly passed away 12 months ago before, more recently, he ended up in hospital for two and a half months recovering from an illness himself.
So to receive a cheque for £107.24 - the premium he paid for one year of contents insurance - from the Firth Park team was a positive that David needed. And he has peace of mind that his items are protected in the future too, having decided that the money will be used towards his home insurance when it next comes up for renewal.
He explained: “To find out I had won this money was a great feeling because I have had such a tough year - an unimaginable one really - and was in need of some positive news. I plan to use the cash to pay my insurance premium next time around.
“I’ve been a member of The Nottingham for many years and when I was asked by one of the team at Firth Park whether my home insurance was coming up for renewal I said it was but that I was being quoted around £200.
“She introduced me to the RSA policy and not only was I able to save money, I also liked that I insured exactly what I need to insure and nothing else. I really was able to take my pick and make the policy bespoke to me.
“I’m a fan of the face-to-face service at The Nottingham, particularly when it comes to finances and insurance, so it was great to be able to talk to someone in person at an organisation that I trust and which I have been a part of for some time.”
He added: “It does feel good when your loyalty is rewarded - there aren’t enough places that do that in my opinion. I would likely use more of The Nottingham’s services knowing there are discounts or cashback available.”
