About our Mansfield branch
Some 12 miles north of Nottingham, close to junction 28 of the M1 and the A60, sits the market town of Mansfield. It is an area heavily influenced by its industrial past of coal mining and textiles, which thrived until the 1990s. Settlement in the town is said to date back to Roman times, after which the Mercian kings are documented as using Mansfield as a base for hunting in nearby Sherwood Forest.
Our Mansfield branch is in a prominent town centre location on Stockwell Gate, in close proximity to Mansfield’s popular market, shops, a pharmacy, bakery, old town hall and Palace Theatre. The friendly team of expert staff are happy to guide you through our range of building society services, from opening a new ISA savings account to finding you the right mortgage through our mortgage partner.
Many famous people were born or brought up in Mansfield – swimmer Rebecca Adlington OBE, broadcaster Richard Bacon and singer Alvin Stardust to name three.
