One of the oldest boroughs in England, Retford is situated 23 miles west of Lincoln and just over 30 miles away from Nottingham. The area boasts no less than 19 Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), including Eaton Wood and River Idle Washlands. Chesterfield Canal passes through the centre of Retford, which is also on the East Coast Main Line railway and close to major road networks via the A638.
