Reducing email communications

We're always looking at ways to improve our app, from enhancing journeys and publishing new functionality, to working with new partners to deliver you extra services. Take a look at the changes from 6th March 2025.

Easier for new online customers to make their first deposit

95% of new members tell us they find it easy to open an account, it's something we've recently been rated 5* for from Moneyfacts, however some say it's not as clear how to make their first deposit.

We've listened and introduced a new feature that provides help when our members first load their account that disappears when their first deposit is made.

Introduced more progress bars

Whilst applications to open a new account or withdraw funds is really quick in our app, knowing your progress is something we feel is really important. When we launched our Nottingham Building Society app we introduced progress bars along the top of our application screens.

Since then we've extended this across more in-app tasks, such as moving your money, creating additional accounts, setting up goals, updating the maturity journey, closing your account and creating statements.

Confirmation email when changing your address

When passbook savers are updating their online account details, we've introduced an email confirmation so you know we've updated our files. The email also includes handy tips on how to keep your passbook account up to date.

Reduction in non-funded account emails

We've listened to our members' feedback. We were told that we're sending too many emails when accounts are needing funding otherwise risk it automatically closing. We've significantly reduced the amount of communications we send to you to just one email.
