The market town of Uttoxeter is in Staffordshire, close to the border with neighbouring Derbyshire. Some historians point to pre-Roman settlement, and Bronze Age axes discovered there can be seen on display in the Potteries Museum a short journey down the A50 in nearby Stoke-on-Trent. Uttoxeter Racecourse is a popular attraction and the town’s close proximity to Alton Towers, St. George’s Park National Football Centre and the Peak District also brings in a lot of visitors.
